What is the export process for chemical products?
The export process of chemical products involves five core steps: qualification preparation, product classification and identification, document preparation, transportation customs declaration, and international transportation. Among them, hazardous chemicals need to obtain an additional dangerous goods package certificate and comply with special transportation regulations.
Pre qualification and product preparation
Enterprise Qualification:
Handle import and export business rights, customs filing, and hazardous chemical business license (necessary for hazardous chemicals);
Register an electronic port and open a foreign exchange account.
Product classification identification:
Non dangerous goods require a 'Cargo Transportation Condition Appraisal Certificate';
Dangerous goods must have a clear UN number and hazard level, and provide a "Dangerous Goods Certificate" or alternative documents (such as a limited quantity certificate, classification certificate, etc.).
Document and packaging requirements
General files:
Trade contract, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, MSDS (in both Chinese and English versions);
Certificate of Origin, Quality Certificate (if required by the destination country).
Special requirements for dangerous goods:
Dangerous goods certificate or alternative documents;
The packaging must comply with IMDG/IATA standards and be labeled with hazardous material signs and markings.
Transportation and customs declaration process
Booking:
Select a shipping company with hazardous chemical transportation qualifications, submit identification reports and hazardous material information;
Customs declaration:
Submit customs declaration, contract, and inspection clearance form (products listed in regulatory condition B or hazardous chemical catalog require inspection);
Dangerous goods require an additional 'Classification and Identification Report of Hazardous Characteristics'.
Port operations:
Dangerous goods require dedicated transport vehicles and compliant loading and unloading, and dual declaration from the maritime department and the port must be completed.
