The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one service is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
